Welcome Back to Kaupeka 2018!

We have had an exciting first two days back in the Kaupeka hub already! This begun with the pirate flash mob (our Year 7/8 students weren't even slightly embarrassed by their teachers) - check out the video on our school Facebook page to see us in action. This was followed by whole-school prayers to start the year off. The rest of the first day involved getting to know each other ice breakers, information about our routines in Kaupeka and pirate scavenger hunts in house groups.

The second day consisted of a whole-school liturgy, maths maintenance, team building activities and meeting our Paiaka buddies. It has been awesome having our Year 8's back with us and our new Year 7's. There is a really positive atmosphere within the hub and we look forward to what is going to be a fun-filled year in Team Kaupeka!

Feel free to come in to see the learning spaces and meet any of the Kaupeka teachers - you are always welcome!

Back to Back Drawing Challenge...
The objective of this activity was for each pair to take turns at being the "instruction giver" and the "drawer." Through this they observed how well they gave instructions of a picture in front of them and how well their partner was able to replicate it while facing in opposite directions.

 Minefield Challenge...
The purpose of this activity also involved instructions. One student within the pair had to guide their blindfolded partner from one end of the course to another without setting off any mines (knocking over any drink bottles).
